Splayed stems
The outer strokes lean out as they rise; the center vertex drops almost to the baseline and stops just short.

Carved on one side
The left stem takes a carve at the head; the right is cut plain. On every stem it would be a mannerism — used selectively it stays a decision.

The numeral one carries a sharp angled beak — the most distinctive character in the set.

Main & alternative forms
Six characters offer alternate forms — lowercase a, g, u, y, plus alternate designs for the numeral 1 and ampersand. The alternates strip out the beaks and carves of the main set, shifting AAROQ from classical toward deco. Enable Stylistic Set 1 to activate them.

OpenType details
Six ligatures cover the f-pairings that would otherwise collide — including fj, which most families skip. Kerning and ligatures switch on automatically in any application that supports OpenType.

AAROQ was released in July 2026. It is an incised display serif — high contrast, a flat-cut A, a left-hand carve at the head of selected stems — designed for branding, packaging, stationery, and editorial work.
Your download includes OpenType (.otf) and webfont (.woff2) files, delivered by email after purchase and available on your checkout confirmation page.
The Desktop License covers installation on up to five workstations for print, branding, logos, and static design work. It does not include embedding the font in websites, apps, or broadcast media.
The Web License lets you self-host AAROQ on a single domain with up to 10,000 pageviews per month. If your traffic runs higher than that, message me and I'll quote an upgrade.
If you need both desktop design files and web embedding, yes — bought separately the two licenses come to $98, and the bundle is $79. It includes everything in both, with no other differences.
Choose the App / Broadcast License for mobile apps, video games, film and television, high-traffic websites, or any deployment that falls outside the standard Desktop or Web licenses.
Yes. A valid license covers work you produce for clients, provided the end use stays within the terms of your license tier. Your client does not receive redistribution rights.
After checkout you get a confirmation email with your license details and a secure download link for the font files. If anything is missing, message me and I'll sort it.
